About our District
Pleasant Valley School District 62 in Peoria, Illinois, consists of both a Primary and Intermediate School serving grades PreK through 8. We also provide access to free preschool for 3, 4 and 5 year-olds through Peoria County Bright Futures. Between our Primary and Intermediate school, our district serves approximately 450 students, employs approximately 50 certified teachers and 40 members of our support staff. Our staff to student ratio compares favorably with both state and benchmark district averages.
Pleasant Valley School District believes that technology enhances both teaching and learning and we integrate technology to enrich and enhance our work and to prepare students for an evolving digital world. Our classrooms utilize SMARTBoard technology along with Google Chromebooks.
At Pleasant Valley, our mission is to "engage, inspire and empower each student toward academic excellence and citizenship". Through student learning, curriculum, parents, community climate and fiscal responsibility we are committed to realizing our vision. The staff, administration and School Board of Pleasant Valley School District will work with students and parents in taking an active role in the promotion of enthusiastic, life-long learners. This is a shared responsibility that will demonstrate a respectful, safe and caring climate for all. The School Board and Administration accept the responsibility of providing a professionally stimulating and challenging environment for staff which will meet the changing educational needs of our students.
