Pleasant Valley School District #62 Nutrition Information
Pleasant Valley School District #62 participates in both the National School Lunch Program (NSLP) and School Breakfast Program (SBP) and our district is Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) for the 2025-2026 school year. What this means for our families is that all school breakfasts and lunches are 100% free! No further action is required of you.

Local School Wellness Policy
In accordance with 7 CFR 210.31(c), a Local Education Agency that participates in the NSLP and/or SBP must establish a Local School Wellness Policy. Per the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE), "A Local School Wellness Policy is a written document that sets the framework for a healthy school environment through goal setting and policy making."

Fresh Fruits and Vegetable Program
Pleasant Valley School District #62 has been selected by the Illinois State Board of Education to participate in the Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program (FFVP) for the 2025-2026 school year. Per ISBE, "The purpose of the Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program Grant is to increase fresh fruit and fresh vegetable consumption in elementary schools that participate in the NSLP."

During every school week, twice per week, our district offers  fruits and/or vegetables as a healthy snack to every student in grades K-8. These healthy snacks are offered outside of normal meal periods at no cost to our students.

To file a program discrimination complaint, complete the USDA Program Discrimination Complaint Form, AD-3027, found online at How to File a Program Discrimination Complaint and at any USDA office or write a letter addressed to USDA and provide in the letter all of the information requested in the form.
